The Ghost is arguably the first true high-performance board that works exceptionally well for surfers of all levels and could be considered a "one-board quiver" for any surf trip featuring decent to good waves. It has become a favorite of JJF for all types of surfing—from a win at Margaret River and an "Ollie Oop" at Bells to turns at J-Bay and even head-high waves at Trestles—and a go-to choice for surfers worldwide.

Originally designed for performance in hollower, more powerful surf, the Ghost excels at reef breaks and fast beach breaks, while also shining at point breaks.

Based on our Short Cut model, the Ghost features a refined outline: the wide point is still slightly forward of center, but the nose area remains low-profile and the tail is slightly pulled in to help fit into tighter arcs.

Volume is also shifted forward to aid in easy wave entry, while the tail and rails are kept thinner to maintain control in barrels and high-speed turns.

The rocker is medium-to-low in the front half, allowing for easy wave entry and rapid speed generation. The back half features significant rocker curve for control during turns and quick responsiveness. A single concave runs the length of the bottom, with a double concave inside it; this combination generates speed and lift—both on the rail and over flat sections—while enabling quick rail-to-rail transitions. The Ghost’s blend of rocker and concave delivers high-performance handling with a healthy mix of sensitivity and control. Depending on the conditions you plan to surf, we recommend ordering your Ghost anywhere from your height up to 8 inches longer, and 1/4" to 1/2" wider and 1/8" to 3/8" thicker than your everyday shortboard.
